Grand Knights History currently in limbo after being canceled by XSEEDPosted 11:02 am on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012 by Chris Del Castillo
Not too long ago, Atlus announced they were going to publish Dragon’s Crown instead of Ignition Entertainment and were going to have in house developers assist in working on the title from Vanillaware. Because of this, the game would take longer to release, pushing it back to 2013. Hopefully with the extended time, fans can expect to have a great game.
Well let’s make it 2 for 2 now. Today XSEED announced it will no longer publish Vanillaware’s turn-based RPG, Grand Knights History, for the PSP due to lack of development resources. It doesn’t mean the game won’t be coming out, it’s just that right now the game is in limbo and ready to be picked up by other publishers.
Maybe Atlus or NISA can step up and pick up another Vanillaware title. Either way only time can tell what will happen with Grand Knights History in the US. Europe will still be seeing the game later this year as it’s being published by Rising Star Games.
“Unfortunately, it was determined that development resources required to localize the game were not available, necessitating its cancellation,” the official statement from XSEED sent to Joystiq reads. “We regret not being able to bring the game to our fans, but we are committed to our 2012 lineup and look forward to sharing more on these games in the coming weeks and months.”
