Max Payne 3 DLC plan revealedPosted 10:54 am on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012 by Michael Revis
When you’ve got a title that’s as promising as Max Payne 3, you gotta have a DLC plan that matches it, and Rockstar is set to accomplish just that. The company just recently announced their schedule for additional content, with DLC packs planned to be released all the way to fall of this year.
All of the currently planned DLC will be focusing on the multiplayer aspect, one of the new features to the series, and being touted by Rockstar as explosive and innovative. Coming in June will be the Local Justice map pack, which will include three different maps, along with multiplayer challenges, avatar items, and more. The summer will see the release of two more map packs, along with a co-op pack and mode pack, while the fall will see two more map packs. Additional packs are also planned to be revealed at a later date, so the listing itself is far from final.
If you’re a die hard Max Payne fan and plan on getting all of the DLC anyway, then Rockstar is also joining the Season Pass club, a tactic used in other games such as Mortal Kombat 9 and Gears of War 3. The Rockstar Pass will allow consumers to get access to all of the DLC as they are released, at a discounted price (around 35% compared to purchasing all of the packs individually). The Rockstar Pass can be pre-ordered at retailers such as Best Buy or Gamestop, or directly from the Playstation Store if you’re on PS3 (no word on if the same will be true for Xbox 360 users).
Max Payne 3 is scheduled to be released May 15, so you don’t have a whole lot of time left to get your pre-orders in.
