From an up-and-coming wrestler in the WWE to now one of the biggest action stars in movies, Dwayne has done it all. Since his first feature film, The Scorpion King, Dwayne has gone on to do many great action films which include The Rundown, Walking Tall, Faster, Fast Five and the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation. I for one, have been a huge fan of his since he was in the WWE. His charisma, attention to detail and skill has always stood out not just in the ring, but in movies as an actor also. To put it bluntly, he is a damn good actor and I completely agree that he should win this award. In all honesty, it seems as if he is the only true action star left. He has definitely aligned himself with the likes of past genuine actions stars including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis.

Mitch Neuhauser, General Manager for CinemaCon had this to say about Dwayne:

“An exciting performer who first gained attention from audiences around the world when he developed the iconic character The Rock, Dwayne Johnson has taken his charismatic presence to the big screen and has proven over and over again that he can entertain audiences of all ages – whether it be an action-paced film or a family comedy. He thrills audiences around the world with exhilarating performances that leave them on the edge of their seats, and I cannot think of someone more worthy of being named the CinemaCon Action Star of the Year.”

CinemaCon takes place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from April 23-26. Dwayne will receive his award at a dinner on the final night of the convention.
