Nintendo Download, April 19th – Kid Icarus in 3D, Pyramids, I Must Run!
Posted 1:01 pm on Thursday, April 19th, 2012 by Ryan SouthardThe Nintendo Download predictably returns this week, but it bears a newly re-packaged gift from the past: 3D Classics: Kid Icarus! I have yet to play the game, but thankfully there is a video of it, and yes, it is in 3D. Whether or not you’ve played the original, if you’re in for a challenging platformer game somewhat similar to Metroid, though much more linear, you should definitely give this one a go. This 3D classics line of games really brings a lot of freshness to these multiple decades-old games (3DS eShop).
I Must Run! is an auto-running platformer game in the style of Bit.Trip Runner. Based on the video, it looks like you’ll have a duck and a jump move. Check out this link to see the trailer (eShop/DSiWare).
I had a chance to play the Pyramids demo, and I wasn’t too impressed with it. As an archaeologist who needs to grab some treasure before heading for the door, you can create or destroy blocks in front of you or at your feet. It’s a bit puzzle-like and there’s some platforming too. Try it out for yourself via the Nintendo eShop.
There’s also a new premier episode of Dinosaur Office which is now in its second season. Check it out on Nintendo Video for all your dino-whackiness needs.
