Capcom is boldly making a move into the time-intensive open-world rpg genre with Dragon’s Dogma. We’ll all soon be able to tell whether or not that effort was in vain when the demo hits PSN and Xbox LIVE on April 24th (April 25th for Europe).

The demo will give players access to two different locations. One will lead players down a dark labyrinth, a deadly “chimerain” (that lion-looking thing) being the final confrontation. The other takes place on the over-world, allowing players to control a “strider” class character who is a master of bows and daggers–or so he claims. Players will then be tasked to take down the griffin that’s been seen in several videos since the debut.

If you happen to like the demo, and the character you’ve created for it, you can export that character (and your pawns) to the final game when it comes out on May 22nd in North America, and May 25th in Europe.

I suppose that now would be a great time to remind everyone that a code for the demo of Resident Evil 6 will be tagging along with every copy of Dragon’s Dogma. Interested now, are you?
