Crysis 3 announced and has a Spring 2013 release datePosted 3:33 pm on Monday, April 16th, 2012 by Narvin Seegoolam
EA has finally confirmed that there will be an upcoming third title to the Crysis series that will release in early 2013. Alcatraz (his name wasn’t changed to Prophet until the end of Crysis 2) will be making a return to New York once again, except this time things look a bit different. The Cell Corporation has encased the entire city in a Nanodrome within which houses 7 completely different environments called the Seven Wonders. Some of those environments include an urban swamp, grasslands, a Wall Street canyon and an urban rainforest. This will definitely vary encounters as opposed to Crysis 2 which had a predominantly urban city setting. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli had this to say:
“Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love. Leveraging the latest Cryengine technology, we’re able to deliver seven unique themes that offer stunning and visually loaded gameplay experiences. We cannot wait until people get their hands on the game.”
Besides some of the new settings, Prophet will be rockin’ an updated Nanosuit as well as new human and alien weapons including a composite bow. In standard EA fashion, if you preorder the game, you will automatically get upgraded to The Crysis 3 Hunter Edition which gives you early access to the bow as well as a new bow skin, attachments for multiplayer, a Hunter-Nanosuit, 3 dog tags and a multiplayer boost that starts you at Level 5. There are also other preorder bonuses like the Jackal Shotgun, Feline SMG and Typhoon assault rifle through different outlets, but that has yet to be confirmed.
