Of Orcs and Men is an in-development PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 game that forgoes the typical handsome, manly man-hero, and instead offers up an awkward pair: a giant orc who hails from a league of warriors named the “Bloodjaws”, and a goblin whose dark magic and stealth skills complement the orc quite nicely. The press release mentions that players will take control of the orc, and that “a goblin will soon join you to aid you in your mission”. Does this mean that we’ll get to control both characters throughout the campaign? Should we expect a co-op mode? I’ve sent out an email for comment regarding details.
As for the quest of these two unlikely heroes, they’re out to assassinate a particular human who’s the primary catalyst for the persecution of all things green.
Of Orcs and Men is being developed by Cyanide and Spiders (the dev team, not the creepy crawlies). It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2012.
