Optimus Vu: The Kindle Fire killer?

LG just unveiled a new device that will light a fire under Amazons Kindle Fire – The Optimus Vu. This tablet-like smartphone beast is running a powerful 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 32GM internal memory, and a lasting 2,080 mAh battery. The 5-inch display has a bright 4:3 aspect ratio and being an IPS display, it also boasts every color when viewing under its best viewing experience, that is, under bright sunlight. Finger strokes or use of LG’s Rubberdium pen allows for quick note taking and partnerships with Microsoft makes the LG a sizable goliath competitor for students, businessmen/women, and for the growing digital reader consumers.

“The Optimus Vu: was designed to maximize what customers could do with a smartphone. By offering an optimal 4:3 ratio viewing experience, 5-inch display combined with superfast LTE technology, Optimus Vu: is just one example of what we can achieve when we combine our best technology with customer needs.” – Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company

Slightly bigger, extremely faster, and IPS ready phones are in! Now all we need as consumers is for the fashion industry to give us pockets large enough to hold our tablets, phones, mobile gaming devices, and everything else we all nerd-out for.
