Icade brings the Nostalgia with the 8-bitty for iOS
Posted 9:56 am on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 by Chris Del CastilloWith the iOS devices like the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad delivering retro gaming, its sometimes hard to enjoy the games with the small in-game touch screen and enjoy the full view. Icade has the answer for gamers who want to enjoy their games without sacrificing controls on their portable iOS devices for just $24.99.
Introducing the Icade 8-bitty, it’s cleverly named and has a very familiar design to your old NES, aside from the 2 added buttons and 2 shoulder buttons on the top of the controller (not shown). The controller connects via bluetooth.
While made for iOS, the 8-bitty is pretty much Android ready. So if companies feel like adding support for this pretty piece of nostalgia plastic, please go right ahead, since it has an open interface system. It’s time to bug some of you favorite game developers for some support.
While supporting a good chunk of retro titles, more games are being added. It’s nice to know that with the open source, there is even some secret MAME support for Android and iOS devices if you look around. *hint hint*
