Enjoy a brain-altering nerd-gasm with Super Mario Bros. Crossover 2.0
Posted 3:03 am on Friday, February 10th, 2012 by Ryan SouthardMaybe you’ve heard of it, and maybe you haven’t, but every gamer out there needs to try Super Mario Bros. Crossover 2.0 (the latest version). It takes Super Mario Bros., a game that I think just about everyone has played, and throws in a heaping Koopa-shell’s worth of extra playable characters from that same era.
There’s Bill from Contra, Mario, Luigi, Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man, Link, Sophia The 3rd from Blaster Master, Trevor C. Belmont from Castlevania III, Samus Aran, and Bass of Mega Man fame. As if all of those weren’t enough, thanks to extensive skins available, various versions of those characters as well as Dr. Wily, Dark Link, Dark Samus, and more are playable.
Players will be delighted to know that the somewhat tired original Super Mario Bros. graphics can be altered to NES, Super NES, Gameboy, and Current-style.
If you have a gamepad, make sure to find the instructions on Jay Pavlina’s site, ExplodingRabbit, to get the most out of your playtime.
Watching the video below should give you an idea of whether or not you should take the plunge to try out this perfectly free game.
