There’s a crapload of Mass Effect 3 info that has just been released and we couldn’t be happier to tell you about it. From a new iOS game that ties into the story, to new screenshots and leaked DLC, we’ve got the info here. Where to begin?
Mass Effect: Infiltrator for iOS
EA has announced that there is a new tie-in game called Infiltrator coming to iOS devices. The game is a third-person cover-based shooter that places you in the role of spec ops soldier named Randall Enzo. He currently works for Cerberus, but soon has reason to cut ties and assist Shepard in saving the galaxy. Throughout the game, you will be tasked with freeing prisoners, gaining intel against Cerberus, etc. Most, if not all, of what you do here will have a direct impact on your playthrough in Mass Effect 3. EA has stated that it is not detrimental to play the iOS game and it will not affect you having the best ending in ME3, but can attribute to it if you do play the game. EA calls it the “Galactic Readiness rating.” There’s some screenshots below for your viewing pleasure.
Mass Effect: Datapad for iPad
Mass Effect: Datapad is a new app that will be available exclusively to the iPad. Not only does it allow you to view the codex (glossary) like you would in the regular game, but it also gives you updates on your progress within the game, sends you messages from party members and can even allow you to deploy troops on different planets. Both Infiltrator and Datapad will be linked to your EA Origin account to keep track of everything
Mass Effect 3: From Dust DLC Leaked
Apparently a Gamestop customer in the U.S. was able to purchase a DLC called From Dust while placing their preorder for ME3. The image was sent in by a Joystiq reader. EA and Bioware have neither confirmed nor denied the legitimacy of the receipt as of yet. Check it out for yourself:
Mass Effect 3 Console Vault
Calibur11 have done it again. From the same guys that brought you the Battlefield 3 and Gears of War 3 console vault cases, Calibur11 is proud to announce the new Mass Effect N7 console vault case. All I have to say is “I WANT THIS!” The case showcases Commander Shepard’s chestplate armor bearing the infamous “N7″ logo (which lights up btw). It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and its own redeemable codes for in game goodies on Mass Effect 3. Besides just looks, the case helps to increase airflow and cooling of your console as well as having a built-in headset/controller holder on the side. The collector’s edition vault will be available starting from March 4th for both Xbox 360 and PS3 and carries a price tag of $89.99.
