Resident Evil: Retribution – The saga continues
Posted 9:17 pm on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 by Cindy TranSo this franchise has successfully pushed out four consecutive movies since 2002, with the 5th one being a decade later. The same guy, Paul W. S. Anderson, has written and produced all the movies and has the same key actress, Milla Jovovich, to play in the Resident Evil live-action movies. If you’ve seen the past movies, you know the storyline doesn’t follow the games, but they do make for great low brow entertainment. The story lines aren’t bad, but on the same hand aren’t good.
But unlike most video game movie franchises that fail miserably, this movie is able to keep the fans happy and keep coming out with sequels. Hell, this series holds Guinness World Record for “Most Live-Action Film Adaptations of a Videogame”, “First Live-Action Move Trilogy Based on a Video Game”, and “Highest Grossing Game-Licensed Movies”.
It really doesn’t surprise me that the company would make another movie before the Zombie Apocalypse happens at the end of this year, or that the other movies still grossed so much with a storyline a bit beneath the plot complexity of Inception. The thing that really surprises me is that…
Milla Jovovich has-not-aged-in-any-of-the-movies! I feel like that Umbrella Corporation has actually captured the actress and made replicas of her to play in the movie to remain ageless to the viewers. I’m screaming out conspiracy! Maybe it’s just me. In any case, go out watch the movie if you love zombies, Resident Evil, or want to see Milla Jovovich remain ageless in theaters sometimes in September 2012 in 3D!
