NAMM 2012: Beat Junkies 20 Year Anniversary Performance

Nerd Reactor was at the 2012 NAMM show and caught the Beat Junkies performing in the RANE booth for their 20 year anniversary.  The Beat Junkies is a world famous DJ crew that help put Turntablism on the map.    Turntablism for those who don’t know is the art of DJ scratching and manipulating beats with phonograph turntables.

The crew members present at the occasion were DJs Rhettmatic, J-Rocc, Melo-D, Shortkut, Babu, and Mr. Choc.  I personally remember good times listening to DJ Melo-D mix on LA’s 92.3FM The Beat, and also DJ Babu winning numerous DJ battle titles with his sick beat juggling.

Check out our video and photo gallery below from the event.  At the end, RANE awarded each of the crew a plaque for their 20 years of contribution to the art of Turntablism.  Well deserved, guys!
