Either Capcom’s spell checker took the day off, or “REVELAITONS” is a whole new game. This is a pretty amusing accident. It’s rare, but it’s something we haven’t seen before (anyone else remember the IGN watermark in the Nintendo Wii’s Okami insert?).
Capcom caught wind of the mistake and has gone on to fix the problem, but they won’t be able to get to the ones already shipped out. That means that all the first run copies of Resident Evil Revelations for the U.S. will look like the picture above, and Capcom will have a fix for everyone who buys one with the misspelling.
Resident Evil Revelation will be released on February 7th in the U.S.
Can you say collector’s item?
“It has come to our attention that there was a misspelling on the Resident Evil: Revelations packaging,” a spokesperson for the publisher told Eurogamer. “We apologize for the mistake, which will be corrected for subsequent productions of the game. We are working on a solution to provide affected customers with the correct packaging. Please visit Capcom-Unity for updates.”
