6,000 Modern Warfare 3 Copies Stolen

PCWorld is reporting that a van carrying around 6,000 copies of Modern Warfare 3 was stolen. The thieves crashed their cars, subdued the drivers and left with the truck. The truck was carrying around 6,000 copies of Modern Warfare 3. The total value is reportedly around 400,000 Euros (around $550,000 US). This is not the first time where thieves stole copies of this popular franchise. When Call of Duty: Black Ops was released, robbers used semi-automatic hand guns to steal 100 copies of the game.

This is getting really out of hand. Next time we’ll hear about a video game release, there will be armored cars delivering the games. I know these are hot commodities and all, but come on people, let’s get our head straight. We don’t want the game companies to think that their next game will lead to violence on the streets.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a highly anticipated game. Many people are very excited about its release. Unfortunately, I won’t be one of those people, my money is being diverted elsewhere and just do not have the funds. But if the hype is true and everything goes as planned, I may pick it up during the holidays.
