After the debacle of Qwikster and the price hikes, Netflix lost 800,000 users in the 3rd Quarter. This comes as no surprise. Many felt that the price hike and the separation was not needed. And they also felt betrayed and left the company once that news spread. The backlash of this hit Netflix where it hurts, in their stocks.

The Netflix market value dropped about 60% or nearly $9 billion on Monday. Many see the DVD-by-mail to continue to decline in the coming months. Being a current Netflix user, this news worries me a bit. Though I have been thinking of leaving Netflix for Hulu+ account. It seems to offer more up-to-date TV shows and movies for streaming. But I will wait to see how Netflix plans to try and win back some of those customers who left.
