‘Devil May Cry’ Getting the HD Treatment

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Capcom has just announced that the original Devil May Cry PS2 titles would be getting the HD makeover for the PS3 sometime in 2012.

Devil May Cry 1, 2 and 3 will all get trophy support and improved visuals. If you previously bought the collection for PS2, it’s time to shelf that (I had bought 2 copies when it released) to make room for the new versions with all 3 games on one Blu-ray disc with a bunch of unannounced special content. The best thing of all is that Capcom has priced it at only $39.99.

“Devil May CryTM HD Collection brings the first three original Devil May Cry® titles; Devil May CryTMDevil May CryTM2 (the black sheep in the series), and Devil May CryTM 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition together in one high definition package for the first time.

Featuring Dante, one of the most iconic video game characters of the last decade, Devil May Cry HD Collection will be full of the award-winning gameplay and style that the series has become known for with the addition of stunning HD graphics, bonus content and support for Trophies and Achievements.”

The announcement may make some happy, since the next title, DmC, a reboot of the series, has fans becoming either very excited or massively disappointed. Plus, what better way to capitalize on the popularity of Dante and Vergil in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
