FOX and The Simpsons voice actors have settled on an agreement, and The Simpsons will continue on for two more seasons. The show is the longest-running sitcom, and will end its journey on its 25th season. It’s been reported that the actors have agreed to reduce their pay for 30%. Their original salary was $440,000 per episode, which will now be reduced to $300,000 per episode. Everything was settled on Friday, October 7th.

This all started when FOX decided that it was not able to keep on producing the show with “its current financial model”. The actors said they would be fine with a 30% pay cut, but FOX originally wanted their pay cuts to be reduced to 50%.

The voice actors include Dan Castellaneta (Homer, Barney, Krusty the Clown, etc), Julie Kavner (Marge), Nancy Cartwright (Bart, etc), Yeardley Smith (Lisa), Hank Azaria (Moe, Chief Wiggum, Apu), and Harry Shearer (Mr. Burns, Principal Skinner, Ned Flanders, etc).

This isn’t the first time the voice actors and FOX have been battling about pay. They and FOX had pay disputes at least 4 times since the Simpsons began. They started out with $30,000 per episode. In 1998, they received $125,000 per episode. In 2004, their pay was bumped up to $250,000 per episode. In 2008, it went up to $400,000 per episode.
