Ridley Scott to Direct New ‘Blade Runner’ MoviePosted 11:27 am on Thursday, August 18th, 2011 by John 'Spartan' Nguyen
Ridley Scott has signed on to directing and producing a new Blade Runner film. We have no idea if he’ll be doing a prequel or a sequel, but I love that he’s coming back to sci-fi again with this movie and Prometheus. Scott will be teaming up with Alcon Entertainment to make the movie.
Blade Runner took place in the year 2019 (it’s almost here) and starred Harrison Ford as a blade runner who is hunting down Replicants, humanoid robots, who’ve escaped and are now in hiding.
Let’s see if Ridley Scott still has it in him to make a very cool-looking cyberpunk world. It’ll be a while though, so we can look to Prometheus to see if he still has it in him to create an awesome sci-fi movie. Prometheus was supposed to be a prequel for Alien, but it turned out to be something a little bit different. It stars Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender and Idris Elba. Prometheus will be out in theaters on June 8, 2012.
