::Update:: You Have Four Days to Download Your Free 3DS GamesPosted 3:21 pm on Monday, August 8th, 2011 by Ryan Southard
If you are part of the group who took it upon themselves to go pioneering into the land of glasses-free 3D, you might want to hop onto the 3DS eShop asap. As an apology to those who bought the system at its original price of $249.99, Nintendo has officially dubbed these early adopters, “Nintendo Ambassadors”, who will be receiving a whopping 20 free games. All they have to do is log onto the eShop with their 3DS by August 11th.
So, early adopters have been well compensated, right? Well, maybe. However, there’s a rumor going round’ that Walmart will be lowering the 3DS to its new price of $169.99 on August 9th (that’s tomorrow, folks). So, you might be able to have your cake, eat it, and then shove the remaining pieces into the faces of those early adopters. Poor guys…
Some Walmarts have indeed lowered the price earlier than they’re “supposed” to. If your local Walmart isn’t doing it though, you might even want to try having Best Buy price match it, as that has worked for others.
Here’s Nintendo’s official statement about the program:
