Spike Lee Rumored to Direct OLDBOY Remake?!
Posted 10:14 am on Wednesday, July 6th, 2011 by Mike VillarrealJust recently announce over at TwitchFilm, there is rumor that the He Got Game director may be helming the American remake of Park Chan-wook’s OLDBOY. Thor and I Am Legend screenwriter, Doug Davison, is set to write the screenplay and Roy Lee will produce the film.
This film has been in pending status for awhile. It wasn’t long ago that Fast Five director Justin Lin was attached to direct the remake. So far, it seems that fans of the original film are totally against an American remake and who could blame them with remakes like Let Me In and now Girl With a Dragon Tattoo.
We’ll keep an eye on this, but I doubt it sees the light of day and if you’ve never seen the original film, I highly recommend you check it out.
