Anime Expo 2011: What Aniplex Has Done For Us

Puella Magi Madoka Magika, one of the more popular titles of the past year, is coming state side. Aniplex of America has announced last Friday at Anime Expo that they will be bringing Puella Magi Madoka Magika and Blue Exorcist to the US on home video. Details about the release of Puella magi Madoka Magica will be announced on a later date. The first four DVD values of Blue Exorcist will be released in October, with the rest of the volumes currently set for January, April, and July 2012.

As part of their earlier announcements, Aniplex of America will be releasing Rurouni Kenshin Blu-Ray here in the States. The first Blu-ray to be released will be the remastered version of the 1999 OVA prequel, Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal. The four disk collection will be released on August 24th with the price tag at $64.98. Aniplex has confirmed in April that the Blu-ray releases will contain both Japanese and English subtitles with options to change the audio between Japanese and English dubs.

The other remakes will be 2001’s two-part OVA, Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection and 1997’s Rurouni Kenshin The Movie. They will be priced at $54.98 and will be released on September 21 and October 24, respectively.

Bandai Entertainment’s online store is currently accepting pre-orders for all of the Rurouni Kenshin Blu-ray releases.
