Aliens: Colonial Marines Awakens from Hyper Sleep

Aliens fans, I know it’s been a long time coming for Colonial Marines, so it might be comforting to know that Sega has just announced that they will be showcasing it at this year’s E3. It even has a release date now, which is currently spring 2012. Just as a reminder, the game was planned to feature 4-player drop-in, drop-out co-operative play, though we do not know if the maximum number of players allowed is still at four.

You can expect to explore the U.S.S. Sulaco, which was the ship used to take Ripley and the marines down to the planet LV-426 where they discovered an alien infestation. Based on the teaser trailer (down below), it appears that there will be a whole slew of new marines — who wish they stayed in hyper sleep — for the aliens to chew on.

We’ll make sure to dish out the delicious details when we experience it for ourselves this E3. Stay tuned.
