Ubisoft Has Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon Movies for You

Since its initial launch earlier this year, Ubisoft’s motion picture department is not wasting any time in getting some of their biggest franchises onto the silver screen. 3D feature movies for Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon are all currently in the works.

Ubisoft has been trying very hard in moving towards its eventual goal of becoming a multimedia juggernaut. Starting with their acquisition of Hybride Technologies, the special effects studio behind 300, the company has launched the Ubisoft Motion Pictures. This and their incredible arsenal of technology is joined by their own renowned Ubisoft Digital Art studio, which means great movies are almost guaranteed.

While video game movie adaptations are sadly not known for their accuracy or story writing, Ubisoft promises to do better. Ubisoft Motion Pictures senior VP of International marketing and distribution Jean de Rivieres offers this to the fans:

“Our strategy is not to diversify but to bolster the appeal of our franchises — that’s why we want to make sure our films will reflect the brands accurately and consolidate our fan base while expanding beyond the games’ primary target audience.”

Ubisoft Motion Pictures will be sending out people to Hollywood starting next month to start talking to studios and agents. Scripts are planned to be ready by the end of the year.
