Male Commander Shepard Will Swing Both Ways

Now this is something we haven’t experienced before, a male Shepard having the ability to love another of the same sex. In Mass Effect 1 and 2, my John Shepard would have a relationship with either a female alien or human, but never with Kaidan Alenko, Garrus Vakarian, Jacob Taylor, or Thane.

Mass Effect Executive Producer Casey Hudson has confirmed that it is now possible for a male Shepard to be gay in the upcoming Mass Effect 3. He said that male Shepard will have “wider options for love interests.” Again, it’ll all be based on how you talk to your character and what dialogue you choose to lead up to that special moment.

In previous interviews, the relationship dynamic of both male and female Commander Shepard was based on the developing team’s perspective. Now it seems that their perspective is now okay with male on male action.
