Wizard World Announces 2011 Los Angeles Comic Con September 24-25

Today is the start of Anaheim Comic Con 2011 and with that, Wizard World has announced that they will have a Los Angeles Comic Con September 24-25, 2011 at the LA Convention Center. The con is going to replace Big Apple Comic Con, which is going to be moved into the Spring.

This year is a good year for comic conventions in LA. We have this to look forward to and Comikaze Expo, which is being held November 5-6, 2011, also at the LACC. Comikaze Expo was touting to be the “first-ever comic, sci-fi and fantasy expo to hit Los Angeles”, but now with news of Wizard World’s Los Angeles Comic Con, it looks like they are now second place.

The first guest of honor announced is Mike Deodato Jr. He’s a Brazilian artist and has worked on The Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America, The Mighty Thor, Wolverine, X-Men, The Avengers, and Batman.

“We are ecstatic to come to the rejuvenated downtown area of Los Angeles to celebrate the best of pop culture – graphic novels, TV, movies, toys, games, genre properties and of course, comic books,” said Shamus. “You can always trust Wizard World to bring the most diverse and robust collection of artists, writers, creators and celebrities anywhere.”

The Big Apple Comic Con Spring Edition will remain for May 21-22 at Penn Plaza Pavilion. Because of this news, 2011 Atlanta Comic Con will be rescheduled.

Stay tuned as we’ll have coverage for Anaheim Comic Con 2011.
