Metroid: Confrontation is an Awesome, Free Metroid Mod

Metroid: Confrontation is a completely free mod of the Metroid series that has the great controls of the GBA games, Kraid, Ridley and Crocomire as newly altered bosses, and an all-new world to explore and perfect. The game is the product of a fan from Argentina who calls himself DoctorM64. He is not a programmer, but has managed to learn how to make games through trial and error. It was first released in 2008, but just recently on March 15th, DoctorM64 released version 2.5. He says it’s the final one, and it includes a time trial, and multi-language support, mod support, and a few other things.

In the game, you can customize your keyboard, or use a controller, although obviously you should be using a controller. Make sure to check the controls to see all of the actions you’re capable of to prevent unnecessary frustration. The resolution can be messed around with as well. The Metroid series is considered one of the best in gaming, so if you want just a little bit more of that, then downloading this game is a must.

You can download the game at DoctorM64’s blog, here.

DoctorM64 is also working on a full version of “Another Metroid 2 Remake” (AM2R):
