Captain America Hype Has Arrived: The Avengers #4 Sells for Record Price

Well, this is a first for this issue to sell at a record-breaking price, which is a CGC 9.6 copy of Avengers #4. The copy sold for $91,500 at the ComicLink auction yesterday. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee brought back Captain America to the Silver Age in 1964 with this issue, where he comes back from suspended animation and joins the Avengers.

Captain America first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 in 1941 by Kirby and Joe Simon and Avengers #4 isn’t considered rare. But then again, few are kept in this good of a condition with this grade.

Gee, I wonder if any of my Pizza Hut exclusive X-Men comics in the 90s are worth anything? Probably not.
