The Dark Knight Rises Script Is Really Phenomal While Production Is Ready to Shoot

Batman cinematographer Pfister recently read the script to The Dark Knight Rises and had this to say:

“I read the script two weeks ago, and he’s (Christopher Nolan) done it. Plain and simple — he’s done it. It’s a phenomenal script. He’s still in the process of cutting it back because it’s a very long script right now, but it’s really phenomenal.”

“He (Nolan) actually had me go back and wanted me to watch, in IMAX, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight again. When I watched those I had read the script for The Dark Knight Rises and was like, ‘dude, it is a perfect trilogy.’ I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures — and they are very different pictures. And it’s funny, we all had different opinions about which picture we like better,” said Pfister.

And this is coming from Batman on Films that they are planning an aerial shoot this week, even though actual production isn’t planned until May:

“And so it begins! They are doing a plate shot in a helicopter over New York City this week. Apparently, Chris Nolan wants to get the city with snow on the ground.”

A lot of speculation can derive from this. It could be anything like Mr. Freeze or a Batcopter flying over Gotham. Who knows? But the fact is he wants snow.

The Dark Knight Rises will be in theaters July 20, 2012 starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine.
