Stan Lee To Get Star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame Today

Today, January 4th, we celebrate our geek independence! Stan “The Man” Lee gets his star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame today, just only a week after his 88th birthday.

On why Stan Lee only was able to receive the star now, after waiting 50 years since the first star was awards and 70 years after his comic book career began:

“I’ll talk to somebody about that,” Lee told CNN.

Stan Lee is the guy behind Spider-Man, The Hulk, Fantastic Four, X-Men and many more. Spider-Man mania is still running strong with a movie reboot coming out and a Broadway musical.

“I’m pretty proud of the fact that some of the stories I wrote so many years ago are still being read and hopefully enjoyed by the public and people are making motion pictures based on them, and television series and even a Broadway show,” Lee said.

So what has Stan Lee been up to these days?

“To me, education is one of the most important things in the world,” Lee said. “Somebody who isn’t educated, it’s like running in a race with one leg tied behind them.”

Stan Lee’s star will be the 2,428th on the Walk of Fame.
