Jon Favreau Says No to Iron Man 3

According to Vulture, Jon Favreau will not be directing Iron Man 3. We’re not sure why, maybe it’s financial reasons, or creative differences. One source says it’s the frustration of adding all these other Marvel characters into the next Iron Man film after The Avengers movie. That’s part of the reason that some didn’t like Iron Man 2 because the studio wanted Jon to try to juggle many characters, just for the sake of setting things up for The Avengers movie. Jon did express how he thought the studio had no idea of what that world will be after The Avengers.

Let’s hope that Marvel can still hold it together after The Avengers.

I’m going to say, it doesn’t match his vision. Little did he know that he is a TOOL for Marvel’s execs to make it THEIR vision. He should embrace it, and DO IT. He’s agreat director, did well with the first, the second one was meh, but w/e. At least it’s Ironman and not….The Santa Clause 4 Tim Allen Returns you know?

He knew Marvel was planning something big with The Avengers and Iron Man. Jon is good when he’s able to do what he wants, but when the studios wanted characters inserted to set up for the movie, it didn’t work quite as well.
