Update: Hans Zimmer Is Not Composing Zack Snyder’s Superman

The Hollywood Reporter had a chance to talk to Hans Zimmer, and Zimmer squashes the rumor that he is composing the score for Zack Snyder’s Superman. He also mentions that he’s never met Zack Snyder. The internet rumor was able to spread wildly because his publicist, Ronni Chasen, was murdered three weeks ago.

“You know, it’s like some dirty quote taken out of context. Let’s just be absolutely straight here: I have never in my life met Zack Snyder. I think I need to give him a ring. But here’s the thing: No Ronni [Chasen]. Suddenly all sorts of stuff starts flowing around with no warning,” says Zimmer.

Hans Zimmer then talks about how John Williams is a great composer and how he wouldn’t dare to change a classic:

Right! John Williams, the greatest living composer — full stop. And that happens to be one of his greatest themes. So no. And I’m not thinking of rewriting Beethoven’s ninth either. It just sounds like a thankless task, you know? So that’s unequivocally a no. I have never spoken with Zack Snyder.

Ok, so I guess Zimmer has no problem with taking over Danny Elfman’s iconic score.

I was reading up on Ronni Chasen, and her death was pretty sad and crazy. She was shot and murdered while on her way home in her car from the “Burlesque” movie premiere. As of this moment, the murderer is still at large. May she rest in peace.
