Uncharted Movie: Nathan Drake Will Have Prominent Extended Family

Every news I hear from this is making my love towards David O. Russell stronger. The man knows how to create a good story, and to see him change around the whole Uncharted character story just because he wants to, brings me at ease. His first casting choice was excellent with casting Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake. What better way to portray a witty and charismatic character then by hiring an angry and dull actor. Now Russell’s next idea is adding newly created family members into Nathan Drake’s life.

In the game, he’s a one man army on his own quest, with some help from his buddy Victor “Sully” Sullivan. But yes, Russell wants to add an extended family into the mix with maybe casting Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Who needs to stick to the original story when you can create one up!

“This idea really turns me on that there’s a family that’s a force to be reckoned with in the world of international art and antiquities… [a family] that deals with heads of state and heads of museums and metes out justice.

We’ll have the family dynamic, which we’ve done in a couple of movies now… And then you take that and put it on the bigger, more muscular stage of an international action picture, but also put all the character stuff in it. That’s a really cool idea to me.”

I have high hopes for this movie!
