Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed Ascendance Animated Short with Extended Trailer

We had previously mentioned that Ubisoft was working on Ascendance, but it’s been announced today that Assassin’s Creed Ascendance will be an animated short (which looks like a motion graphic novel). It will launch on the same day as the Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood game on November 16, 2010.

The story is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal and will help bridge the gap between Assassin’s Creed II and Brotherhood. The short will follow Ezio Auditore as he tries to get rid of the evil Borgia family from power. Watch as Ezio uncovers the secret behind Caesare Borgia’s rise to power and ultimately to take over Italy.

Assassin’s Creed Ascendance will be available for $1.99 for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace.

Don’t forget to check out the Assassin’s Creed The Fall comic books by Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl and the Assassin’s Creed Facebook game called Project Legacy, a social role-playing game.
