KICK-ASS 2: BALLS TO THE WALL ConfirmedPosted 11:10 am on Wednesday, September 1st, 2010 by Mike Villarreal
Recently MTV News interviewed director Matthew Vaughn. The director confirmed that KICK-ASS 2 had been greenlit and would begin filming in less than 9 months. The second film follows immediately after the first film.
“You see how Dave has inspired people to become amateur superheroes, Red Mist has inspired people in the sequel to become amateur supervillains. So what we have is two rival gangs of super characters getting together in New York.”
Millar also goes on to explain that KICK-ASS will have some super friends this time around,
“Dave is getting deeper and deeper into this very dangerous hobby, which he is going out every night and getting into fights, dressed in a superhero costume and is actually forming a superhero team.”
The film didn’t do well at the box office as many had hoped, but it did amazingly in DVD and Blu-ray sales. Vaughn is currently in production for another superhero movie, X-Men: First Class. X-Men is scheduled to begin shooting this month.Iif everything goes according to plan, filming for KICK-ASS 2 should begin next June.
KICK-ASS was one of my favorite movies of this year next to Inception. As we learn more we’ll keep you posted.
