Capcom’s Viewtiful Joe and Marvel’s Dormammu Announced for Marvel vs. Capcom 3Posted 2:28 am on Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 by Chris Del Castillo
Capcom and Marvel like to tease us here and there with announcements of new characters for Marvel vs Capcom 3, and since Comic-Con’s announcement of Thor and Amaterasu, news has been pretty slow. That is until Gamescom premiered and Capcom opened their bag of secrets and announced two more characters in their lineup.
First we have the star of his own heroic game, Viewtiful Joe! First appearing on the Gamecube in 2003 in what was the craziest and zaniest action game ever, Joe later returned to action in Viewtiful Joe 2, which was created by the now closed Studio Clover, the team behind Okami.
This isn’t Joe’s first rumble in a fighting game, he first appeared in his own fighting game Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble, which had him facing his friends, his idol, his girlfriend and many of the bosses from both games. Dante was also included in the mix. Next he made his way into Tatsunoko vs Capcom as a console only exclusive character in both the Japanese and US version of the game.
Marvel announced their Marvel character and he’s Dormammu, the nemesis of Doctor Strange. Dormammu faced many of the Marvel superheroes and teamed up with many of the Marvel villains. He rules and alternate dimension with an iron fist and has a blazing personality.
Growing up Chris watched a lot of the original Saturday morning cartoons and developed a love for arts and animation. Growing up he tried his hand at animation and eventually script writing, but even more his love of video games, anime and technology grew.
